Hello Everyone! Hope you guys are staying safe and healthy! It's hardt to believe that the year is almost over. I feel like I've learned a lot about myself in the past six months and a lot of things have been changing. I know we missed our June Update, but here's an update on what you've missed in the past six months ( btw here's the March Update)
I've been on my team now for about six months and it's been a good, interesting change. Due to the pandemic, priorities at work had changed and the project I was working on at work got completely scrapped. I was a little bit disappointed, but I've found ways to still continue on and have been seen at my work as a leader on the team in a capacity. Additionally, I was appointed the Career Committee chair for the Women's Employee Resource Group at work so I'm really excited to put on programs that will help advance the careers of Women at work!
I was a technical mentor at my job for our apprenticeship program and my mentee was able to convert over to a Full time employee! It was so exciting to see her growth and now I'm excited to see her grow her career as a Software Engineer!
I've also learned about Sanity IO and GraphQL so with the addition of CSS I have learned about 3 out of 4 of the technical concepts I wanted to master this year.
Finances are still going strong ( Thanks Pandemic for keeping me in the house) and I've been doing a lot of research in the financial markets to further increase my networth. I've started to put my money in the stock market and while it has been tumultuous the past few months, I'm anticipating the long term gains for my future. My goal is to continue to build generational wealth and so I'm feeling like this is the best step!
Additionally, I've been building up my side business and a digital creative studio! More on this later in the year but it's been really exciting exploring what entrepreneurship means in my context.
Personally, I have been really INVESTING in myself and healing from the inside out. A LOT has really been going on and while most days are good some days are pretty hard. I've been learning to really love and appreciate myself and abilities and have been working on trusting myself and affirming that I know what I'm doing.
I'm still loving doing yoga and I have a goal of running 100 miles before November so we'll see how that goes!
A lot of my goals that I have set at the beginning of the year has really been manifesting itself and I am so grateful. It seems like 2020 is going to be a good year after all.
How are you doing? What's been going on? Let me know on twitter or Instagram!
